Project Coordinator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Project Managers in obtaining shop drawings from manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Prepare, log, and submit shop drawings to the General Contractor, Owner, and Consultants for review.
Track approvals and distribute approved shop drawings and all project-related documentation to manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Prepare, issue, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up.
Distribute change notices and change orders to subcontractors and suppliers; upon approval, circulate to the project team and update cost projections, drawings, and required accounting records.
Enter change orders and maintain accurate records within project and accounting systems.
Prepare and print monthly cost reports for Project Managers.
Prepare and update Work-in-Progress (WIP) forecast sheets on a monthly basis.
Copy, organize, and distribute drawings, specifications, and change documentation as required.
Manage and issue project deficiency and punch lists, ensuring proper tracking and close-out.
Prepare, coordinate, and maintain commissioning documentation and project-specific quality control forms.
Obtain drawings and specifications from clients and distribute them to subcontractors as required.
Provide administrative and technical support to Project Managers, Project Teams, and Site Superintendents.
Attend site meetings and visit job sites as required to support project execution.
Participate in company operational meetings, including project delivery meetings, staff meetings, and project status review meetings.
Participate in ongoing training seminars and courses; associated costs will be covered or reimbursed by the company.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Degree or diploma in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience working on commercial or institutional construction projects in Ontario.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Experience with CAD software is preferred.
Proficiency with Bluebeam is an asset.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project).
Experience with project or construction management software is an asset.
Familiarity with Accubid and change order software is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Resourceful, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of urgency.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to build effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
Sheet Metal Apprentice
Responsibilities
Install and assemble sheet metal components according to blueprints and schematics
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans
Use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and cutting tools to shape and fit sheet metal parts
Perform welding and caulking to secure metal joints and ensure airtight or watertight seals
Conduct maintenance and repair of existing sheet metal systems in various settings
Assist with flooring installation, tile laying, and construction painting as needed for project completion
Support plumbing tasks related to sheet metal ductwork or piping systems
Participate in restoration projects requiring sheet metal fabrication or installation
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
Qualifications
Proven experience with hand tools, welding, blueprint reading, schematics, and construction techniques
Valid Sheet Metal License (Ontario or equivalent)
Minimum 3–5 years of commercial sheet metal experience.
Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret schematics for installation purposes
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in fabrication and installation tasks
Experience in restoration projects or construction environments preferred
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights or in confined spaces as required
Additional certifications or training in welding, health & safety, or sheet metal work are considered an asset
(e.g., Working at Heights, WHMIS, Lift Training, Fall Protection, Confined Space, etc.)

Responsibilities

Conduct welding and mechanical tasks related to construction plumbing projects when required.
Assist with remodeling projects by integrating plumbing systems seamlessly into existing structures.
Use basic math skills to measure, cut, and assemble piping components accurately.
Lift heavy materials safely while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites.
Experience
Valid Plumber License (Ontario or equivalent)
Minimum 3–5 years of commercial plumbing experience
Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on plumbing installation and repair.
Knowledge of construction plumbing standards, schematics, and blueprint reading.
Familiarity with HVAC systems and their integration into building infrastructure is a plus.
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with construction work efficiently.
Basic understanding of carpentry, remodeling processes, and handyman skills enhances versatility.
